Colour and pattern are the standout features for summer

Neon and flurobrights are the summer sizzlers and best suited to the Clear and Brights and some for the Clear and Dramatics. If you don’t want to be bright all over, bright accessories, will add fashionable zing to a more subdued outfit. Don’t be afraid to mix the colours up; lime green sandals can be worn with bright violet T-shirt or opt for shocking pink and purple accessories with navy dress. Summer equals pattern this year … bold graphic prints, florals, horse design, stripes, animal and snake textures. And the patterns are mixed together in the one item – stripes, flowers and animal print all in the one design. Colour blocking also makes a strong statement.

Shimmer and sheen sparkle in many forms, beads, sequins, shiny textures and clusters of crystals adorning even the humble T-shirt.

Dresses dictate the fashion silhouette. The slimline straight version often has a cleverly shaped black side panel, which is slimming and gives the illusion of more shape, for the straight through body shapes.

The waisted and high waisted styles are good for the curvy figures. Accentuate the waist with a contrasting coloured belt. Put a yellow belt on hot pink floral dress.

Everyone loves black pants. Well forget them this summer. The fashionable fruit salad is not just for dresses and tops, it is for pants … ¾ pants; 7/8 pants, full length trousers. You can team the patterned floral or graphic pant with another pattern on the top, but keep in the same colour family. If you’re not sure go for a plain top. Pencil skirts are also highly decorated with pattern.

If pattern and colour is too much for you, all white is strong and this year the white out is given lots of surface treatment, lace, and fancy embellishment. White is best for the Clear & Dramatics, other colourways need to be careful. Team with scarf in your colours and right shades of lipstick and earrings.
